The Seventh Annual World College Go Friendship Tournament
第七届世界大学生围棋联谊赛
The International University WEICHI Federation, founded by the Shanghai Ing Chang-Ki Weichi Educational Foundation, continues to promote Go activities worldwide. The aim is to connect Go playing University students around the world.
Format
- 8-16 European students vs. 8-16 Chinese students (16 games total).
- 1-2 games per player, depending on the number of participants.
- Held in Karlsruhe 03/12/2022.
- Players of the same team must gather in one location The games will be played online on OGS (personal laptop might be needed), surveyed by a referee.
- 40 minutes + 3×20 seconds (japanese) Byoyomi ; IngSST rules, no handicap, automatic Komi, random Color
- Some games will be selected for a live webcast and commented by a professional player.
- Requirement: University students.
As this is a first, we are still in the midst of figuring out various details. Because of different time zones, the games will be played in the morning around 10:00 AM CET. More precise schedule and rules have yet to be set.
Sponsorship / Rewards
- Every player will receive a participation certificate.
- Trophy for the winning team. Commemorative trophy for the other team.
- The sponsor will reward each player with 100€ per game.
- Compensation for incurring expenses (e.g. travel costs) may be discussed with the coordinator.
The spirit of this event to bring together young Go enthusiasts of all strengths around the world to compete in a friendly atmosphere and develop friendship in the Go community. We are very enthusiastic about this project, and we hope that it can evolve into a regular event in the future.
